The thing I enjoyed the most was able to communicate to a professional in the field I want to work in.It was fulfilling to have discussions about the key skills to have to excel in this industry of Motorsport engineering. Not only that, but it gave me a clear direction of whatI need to do to progress and develop myself as an engineer.

EqualEngineers uncovered some stark results from their inaugural Masculinity in Engineering Survey 2019 in relation to mental ill-health and the lack of inclusivity in engineering culture. To support engagement of the male-majority workforce, ECITB provided funding for EqualEngineers to train 1,000 engineers in the UK nuclear sector through 2020. Training was delivered to over 10 organisations, each of varying sizes, and EqualEngineers provided regular feedback in terms of their reporting on progress to targets set. Overall, a positive outcome was achieved whereby this intervention helped ECITB make inroads to improving the culture across their in-scope organisations in one of engineering construction’s key sectors.

Working as a mentor early on in my career with Equal Engineers has given me a massive boost in in my confidence. The conference that equal engineers put together was fantastic for networking, socialising and learning from experienced mentors and mentees. EqualEngineers provided a great system for going through a mentoring program, with help if you were to feel unsure of what steps to take next.
